Sunbed addict plans to move to London

Tanning addict Patricia Krentcil, who hit the headlines recently as the world’s first ever ‘tanorexic’, has said she intends to battle a ban by US salons by moving abroad. She wants to make Britain her new home. She has also been branded the worst parent in the US after she was accused of encouraging her six-year-old daughter to use a sunbed.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, she said she will move to London where she hopes she will not be restricted from dosing her skin with ultraviolet rays. The state of New Jersey has made it clear that she will never be able to enter a salon again.

Patricia said she has always associated a tan with being beautiful, even though her obsession with not being pale has meant misery for her husband and children who are embarrassed to be seen with her. She added that she got her kicks from being tanned rather than eating, doing drugs or drinking like other people.

Patricia was arrested last year on suspicion that she had caused burns on her daughter’s skin after allowing the six-year-old to use a sunbed. Patricia denies the charge and explained that it would be insane for any mother to do such a thing.

She added that she has always liked London and that moving to the UK capital will give her and her family the chance to start over.
